There is an issue of reasonable force by courts and even those in the US. But, wait, people who happen to enter homes in the US without arms, in some cases children who went to retrieve football were shot dead by their neighbors in the US. In those instances the courts said its in self defence.
In the case of a boy of 14 who was attacked by an adult of 32 who shut him dead, the court said that the adult acted in self defence. The court ruled that the 14 years old took a stone and was about to hit the 32 years old who was armed.
So the issue of reasonable force is like a person whose eye cannot see clearly.
I partook in many demonstrations and we are attacked by the police using tear gas and batons, when what we had were paper cards with our demands written on them.
So, in those cases is teargas and baton a reasonable force against a person who is not armed.
The Supreme Court in the US said that when threatened with any form of arms, a person must use reasonable force.
An example was given of a woman who shoot to death a man who was holding a baton and was about to hit him.
So, lets look at this scenario, when a person use a vehicle to break your gate and entered it. The question to ask is, is a reasonable force here you going with bare hands to stop the vehicle from moving?
I once had a sanitation issue with the authorities. I did all my investigations to know if I am on the right side, that I did not break any law. However, when I had consultation with a lawyer he advised me to go to court and plead guilty and be finned.
It could end up that I will rather be imprisoned. I went to court to defend myself, bassed on the information at my disposal.
