Fashion entrepreneur and Kristo Asafo Church member, Osebo, has shed light on his decision to initiate a court action aimed at halting the installation of a new church leader, specifically Kwadwo Safo Jnr.

Speaking in an interview with the media on June 24, 2026, he explained that the move was driven by concerns over the legitimacy of the succession process and the need to ensure that leadership transitions within the church adhere to both tradition and legal standards.

Osebo’s comments are on the back of events that occurred during a church program over the weekend, which resulted in the shooting incident involving Sarah Adwoa Safo.

According to him, the application before the court is intended to stop any further actions regarding the installation of a new church leader until the issues surrounding the process are properly addressed.

“My presence in court today is about the injunction we placed on the program, which took place over the weekend and led to the shooting of Sarah Adwoa Safo. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a straightforward person. I’m not a family member; I’m just a member of the church. I also have the right to take decision when something is not right in the church,” he said.

Osebo indicated that preserving the legacy of the church's founder, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, requires strict adherence to the church's constitution and directives left behind by the late leader.

“If we continue to make things right, Apostle Safo, our father’s legacy will live on. We have a constitution and amendments Papa wrote down and based on what he said, we have to make that work and also install a new leader of the church,” he stated.

He further alleged that the process used to install the new leader did not comply with the church's governing regulations, prompting the decision to seek legal intervention.

“How they installed the new leader wasn’t appropriate, that’s why we’re here. For the first time, we want to put an injunction on it so that they wouldn’t go ahead and do whatever they’re planning. We have to do the right thing at the right time,” he shared.

According to Osebo, the church's constitution requires the presence of all seven children of Apostle Safo, as well as members of the church, during the installation of a new leader.

“In the constitution, the installation of the new leader of the church, the man’s seven children and all the church members are supposed to be present. But on the contrary, when the program was ongoing, only one child was present and it wasn’t supposed to be held at the venue they did,” he alleged.

He argued that the failure to follow the founder's directives raises concerns about the legitimacy of the process.

“Since they didn’t follow Papa’s instructions, it means there’s something they’re hiding. The right thing must be done, so we want the law to permit us to do so,” he added.
