Controversial Ghanaian musician and activist Wanlov the Kubolor has explained why he still remains relevant in the country's entertainment industry.

According to him, Ghanaians, are simply in love with madness.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, Wanlov, who is known for antics such as walking barefoot, wearing a wrapper in public, and his outspoken stance on Ghana's anti-LGBT bill, argued that chaos usually excites Ghanaians.

"We Ghanaians, we are in love with madness. We love it. We thrive in it. That is why I am still relevant," he said.

He cited the tragic road accident that claimed the life of singer Ebony Reigns, pointing out how the dangerous road conditions that led to her death were left unaddressed long after the crash.

"Look at the sand on the road that took Ebony's life; that sand remained on the road for a week after the accident. Another person almost crashed there because of that sand. When things are crazy, that's when we feel ok," he observed.

He also identified incidents of road rage on Ghanaian roads where people would boldly claim to be mad in other to intimidate others.

"If you're driving and you cross a taxi driver or something, he starts shouting, 'I am mad oo, I will show you how mad I am!' and his friend too will say, 'He is mad oo.' That is when people start paying attention," he said.
