Traditional priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam has pushed back against the perception that people who worship deities are poor or unsuccessful.

He insisted that traditional spiritualists are capable of living luxurious lifestyles.

Speaking in an interview shared on social media on June 25, 2026, Nana Kwaku Bonsam argued that many people have been conditioned to believe that nothing good can come from serving deities.

According to him, such beliefs are the result of years of religious influence that has painted traditional spirituality in a negative light.

“Many people have been brainwashed into believing that worshipping deities is wrong and nothing can be achieved through that,” he said.

To support his claim, the outspoken spiritualist pointed to the expensive items he was wearing during the interview.

“The shirt I’m wearing costs $3,500 and the watch is a Royal Oak brand. I can take off my shirt for you to check the brand I’m wearing. I won’t lie for anything and now there’s AI now, so you can check,” he stated.

He maintained that traditional priests should not be viewed as poor simply because of the nature of their beliefs or practices.

“People think we spiritualists don’t have money. We are also capable of buying expensive things,” he added.
