Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of the International God's Way Church (IGWC), has cautioned his estranged wife, gospel singer Florence Obinim, to refrain from discussing their marital issues during media interviews.

In a viral TikTok video shared on June 26, 2026, the preacher advised Florence Obinim not to respond to questions about their marriage whenever she appears on radio or television programmes. Instead, he said she should make it clear that she is on such platforms to promote her work and not to discuss her private life.

Bishop Obinim's warning comes a day after Florence Obinim's interview on Peace FM on June 25, 2026, during which she addressed aspects of their troubled marriage.

During the interview, she spoke about the possibility of dropping her husband's surname from her brand identity if the need arose amid their ongoing marital feud.

She also discussed her newly acquired vehicle, which was reportedly gifted to her after she disclosed that despite spending more than 22 years in marriage and ministry, she had never owned a car in her own name.

Reacting to the interview, Bishop Obinim warned that Florence should stop speaking publicly about their marriage, insisting that if she continued, he would also be compelled to speak out, an action he claimed would have serious consequences for her.

According to the preacher, although many people believe Florence does not speak negatively about him during interviews, the comments she makes still expose him to public ridicule and criticism.

He further warned that if she failed to desist from discussing their marital issues during media appearances, the situation could deteriorate to the point where even their children would turn against her.

"When you go for an interview, and you’re asked about your marriage, say that’s not your reason for being there. Stop talking. You are pushing me. Your children will rise against you. Your children will no longer be united; it will exceed that of Adwoa Safo and her brother, Kwadwo Akofena. The third one is that there will be hatred between you, your six siblings, and the members of the church. So keep quiet," Bishop Obinim said.

Bishop Obinim and Florence Obinim's marital crisis has dominated public discourse in Ghana over the past few weeks, with both parties making public statements about their relationship.

The controversy began when Bishop Obinim alleged that his wife had changed after associating herself with certain individuals he did not approve of.

The preacher later told his congregation that, upon his death, only his children should be responsible for organising his funeral, adding that Florence Obinim would only be allowed to attend as a guest and would not play any role in planning his burial.

A few days later, Bishop Obinim disclosed that he had moved out of their matrimonial home and had purchased a luxurious mansion at Trasacco, where he now resides amid the marital crisis.

In response, Florence Obinim stated that if her husband wanted to divorce her, he was free to do so.

Since then, Florence Obinim has granted several media interviews while promoting her new song, using the opportunity to share her side of the ongoing marital dispute.
