Popular Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has taken a swipe at authorities over Ghana's perennial flooding problem.

According to her, the same cycle of disaster and inaction repeats itself year after year despite the existence of task forces set up to address the issue.

In a series of posts on X on June 29, 2026, Nana Aba directed her remarks at the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Akweley, asking how she was feeling following the latest round of devastating floods triggered by heavy downpour.

"How do you feel this morning @HonLindaAkweley?" she wrote.

"An anti-flood task force was inaugurated last year," she said in another post.

Nana Aba then pointed out a painful cycle which occurs every year, where authority figures supposedly take action following flooding incidents only to give up until the next one.

"Same script every year. The rains end, everyone resets to factory settings and we reconvene next rainy season for another round of outrage," she added.

Many have argued that despite repeated interventions, poor drainage infrastructure, unchecked development in waterways, and inadequate urban planning continue to leave communities vulnerable each rainy season.
