Kumchacha is a Ghanaian prophet
Founder and leader of Heaven's Gate Ministries, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, has appealed to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for urgent assistance after heavy rains caused severe flooding at his church in Mallam.
In a video shared on his social media pages on June 29, 2026, the preacher said he woke up to the devastating news that floodwaters had inundated his church premises, with part of the building reportedly collapsing.
According to Kumchacha, the situation has left him heartbroken, prompting him to seek prayers and support from his followers.
“I woke up this morning with a heavy heart. I didn’t wake up with good news and I’ve been affected badly. I need prayers from my loved ones because it’s not easy on my side,” he said.
Describing the extent of the destruction, the preacher stated that floodwaters inside the church had risen to waist level, making the premises inaccessible.
“The rain has caused flooding in my church at Mallam. Part of the building has collapsed and the floodwater would get to your waist level when you’re standing in it,” he lamented.
Kumchacha further alleged that two people had died in the neighbourhood as a result of the flooding, although this has not been independently confirmed.

He also painted a grim picture of the situation across parts of Accra, saying he was stranded in East Legon where floodwaters had submerged roads and bridges.
“It’s alleged that two people had died in the neighbourhood. I’m in East Legon right now and the whole place is also flooded. The floodwater has covered the big bridge to the extent that we can’t even see it. No cars can pass through the flood because most cars were also washed away,” he shared.
The preacher added that motorists travelling along the Kasoa road had reportedly been trapped in traffic for several hours due to the flooding.
“People have been stuck in traffic for six to seven hours on the Kasoa road. No cars are moving to enable them to get to their destinations,” he noted.
He used the opportunity to appeal to NADMO to assess the damage at his church and provide the necessary support.
“It has not been easy for me this morning. My church has now turned into a sea. NADMO should kindly check my church for me. It’s around the Mallam station,” he appealed.
Kumchacha also advised the public to avoid unnecessary movement until floodwaters recede, stressing that human life should take precedence over all other concerns.
“If you’ve not stepped out yet, don’t think of going anywhere. Everyone should stay safe and remain in your homes. Your life is more important than anything,” he added.
