The duo said they felt compelled to act following videos of the floods
Ghanaian music duo DopeNation has announced plans to make cash donations to victims of the devastating floods that struck parts of Accra on Monday, drawing from the proceeds of their ongoing Europe tour.
The twin brothers made the announcement via their social media pages on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, saying they would be giving GH¢1,000 each to a number of affected families as a gesture of solidarity in the wake of the disaster, which claimed lives and destroyed homes and property across several parts of the capital.
While acknowledging the limitations of the gesture, the duo said they felt compelled to act.
"The floods in our homes, resulting in the loss of life and valuable property, aren't just here to break us but to remind us of how strong we should be as one people with love," they wrote.

"We intend to give GH¢1,000 each to a number of victims and families affected in some parts of Accra from our European tour proceeds. This won't solve the problem, nor will it bring back the lives and property, but will at least ease some of the burden among us," they added.
The announcement has been widely praised online, with fans and fellow creatives commending DopeNation for channelling their earnings towards supporting flood-hit communities at a time when many Ghanaians are calling on both the government and private individuals to step up in the face of the recurring disaster.
