Ogyaba insists he has served in ministry longer than pastors his age
Founder of Holiness of Christ Zion Ministry, Prophet Ogyaba, has asserted that no man of God in his age bracket in Ghana started ministry before him.
Speaking in an interview on Aluta FM, Ogyaba explained that although he would not mention names, none of his contemporaries began ministry before he did.
According to him, he was born and raised in the church and has dedicated his life to ministry from a young age.
He recalled that he was already ministering while in senior high school and has remained in the church throughout his life.
“No man of God can say they started ministry before I did. I’m talking about pastors around 45 years old. I won’t mention names, but none of them can claim they entered ministry before me. I was born and raised in the church, and I’ve been there all my life. Even when I was in senior high school, I was already doing ministry,” he said.
Ogyaba revealed that, despite growing up in a family of pastors, he initially had no desire to become one himself.
He explained that his father, mother, elder brother and elder sister were all pastors, which made him want to choose a different path.

According to him, he wanted to become a Rastafarian and even stopped attending church for a while as he grew his hair. However, his mother insisted that he return to church.
“At one point, I wanted to become a Rastafarian because I wanted to be different. While the rest of my family went to church, I stopped going for some time. However, my mother wouldn’t allow it, so I eventually returned to church,” he noted.
The preacher further described pastoral ministry as a difficult and dangerous calling, warning that those who are not careful could die prematurely. He stressed that wisdom is essential for anyone seeking to do the work of God.
He added that becoming a pastor is not something that can simply be learned in a classroom, but rather a divine calling that requires proper mentorship and discipline.
“You don’t learn to become a pastor. It’s a calling. Once you’ve received that calling, the next step is to understudy and learn proper pulpit manners,” he added.
