‘Work before you get married’ - Akwaboah advises

Ghanaian highlife musician Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr has shared a piece of advice for people planning to get married, encouraging them to become financially stable before taking that important step.

In a post shared on his X page on June 30, 2026, the highlife superstar urged prospective couples to prioritize work and financial security before settling down.

“Work before You marry oo…Yoooo,” he wrote.

This is not the first time the singer has publicly offered relationship advice.

In 2023, Akwaboah addressed what he described as the dishonest behaviour of some men in romantic relationships, urging them to be truthful about their intentions instead of misleading women.

In an Instagram post, he condemned the practice of pretending to seek serious relationships when the real intention is only physical intimacy.

He wrote: "Yo! It's about time I go hard. What you guys are doing is not nice. If you want to sleep with a woman, let the woman know you want to sleep with her, and if you want to wife her, make sure you wife her."

The musician stressed the importance of honesty and transparency in relationships, arguing that women deserve to know a man's true intentions rather than being given false hope through promises of commitment.
