Akuapem Poloo is a Ghanaian socialite
Ghanaian socialite Akuapem Poloo has thrown her support behind Ghana’s senior national team following their defeat in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a video shared on Instagram and sighted by GhanaWeb on July 4, 2026, Akuapem Poloo urged Ghanaians to refrain from verbally attacking the players and the coaching staff.
According to her, the Black Stars put up a commendable performance despite losing the just-ended match.

She explained that Colombia is not an easy side to play against, adding that even Portugal failed to beat them. She therefore appealed to Ghanaians to give the players credit for their effort.
“Nobody should open his or her mouth to insult either our coach or our players. Throughout this game, they did well.
"They did a great job. Despite all the hurt and the way they were stamping and hurting them, they still played well. Even Portugal could not defeat these Colombians. Our men played,” she said.
Akuapem Poloo further suggested that the team may have been distracted by promises made by some women ahead of the match.

According to her, some women allegedly promised to share explicit videos if Ghana lost to Colombia, which she claimed could have contributed to the players’ performance.
“What do you expect when a woman promises a man a naked body? When a woman tells a man to mess up and says, ‘If you mess up, I will show you my naked body.’
“So they messed up to see the naked body the woman said she would post if Colombia defeated Ghana. They are waiting for it. You do not promise a man a naked body,” she added.
