'I don't have the time to respond' - Ola Michael reacts to A-Plus' confrontation

Entertainment critic and media personality Ola Michael has responded to remarks made by the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, who recently described him as “senseless” during a live television programme.

Speaking on his show on Neat FM on July 6, 2026, Ola Michael said he found it inappropriate to engage in a public back-and-forth over the issue, insisting that he had no intention of responding to the MP’s comments.

According to the media personality, the day after the incident, he received numerous calls from friends, colleagues, and family members, all questioning why he had not responded when A-Plus insulted him on live television.

He disclosed that the calls became so overwhelming that he switched off his phone, adding that despite the public pressure, he has no interest in replying to the lawmaker.

“It feels inappropriate for me to speak about something like that. I even had to switch off my phone on Sunday because so many people were calling to ask why I hadn’t responded to him. I saw one of the messages, and someone said, ‘Don’t worry, he’ll respond to him on Neat FM.’ Me? Respond to who? I don’t have time for that,” Ola Michael said.

Explaining what led to the confrontation, Ola Michael stated that he was merely performing his duties as a media personality by seeking clarification on a social media post A-Plus made regarding the flooding situation in his constituency.

According to him, the MP had written, “It is raining, so I should go to heaven and ask Nebuchadnezzar to stop the rain or what?” and his intention was to seek further explanation on the statement.

The exchange between the two occurred during an edition of United Showbiz on July 5, 2026, where Ola Michael was reading comments from viewers directed at A-Plus.

As Ola Michael continued reading comments from viewers, A-Plus interrupted him and launched into a verbal attack, describing the entertainment pundit as “senseless” and accusing him of lacking progressive thinking.

“Ola, you cannot come here and ask me anything. You are mad. He is naturally a fool. From the very first day, we said we were going to build a special economic zone, but he did not have anything important to say. The only thing he could ask was where we would get the land from. He should be progressive. He is always thinking backwards because he is a fool,” A-Plus stated.
