Media personality Ola Michael has spoken about a recent confrontation with Gomoa Central MP A-Plus during United Showbiz.

Speaking on his show on Neat FM, Ola Michael quoted parts of A-Plus’ outburst, which included the remark: “This is why Shatta Wale insults you.”

According to Ola, it is inappropriate for a Member of Parliament to use Shatta Wale’s behaviour as a benchmark for his own conduct.

“That is why Shatta Wale insults you, and you don’t understand. That’s why you don’t understand Shatta Wale,” Ola said, mimicking A-Plus’ remarks.

Ola Michael expressed, “I don’t think that is necessary. It’s like he’s using that as a yardstick, but the point is, Shatta Wale is not an MP. He’s not a politician, and he doesn’t contribute to making laws and policies for Ghana. So if you use him as a yardstick to behave, then it’s worrying,” he said

He further stated that A-Plus’ reference to Shatta Wale could have been an attempt to gain sympathy from the musician’s fan base, despite knowing that his actions were wrong.

When asked why he didnt engage A-Plus, Ola said personal growth is a choice, and while some people mature over time, others deliberately choose not to.

“There are people who refuse to grow, and to justify their lack of growth and maturity, they insist that ‘this is who I am.’ It means the person has refused to mature and refused to develop character. They have made a choice to remain that way, so it is up to society to decide whether they want such people in their midst,” he said

He also stressed that anger should not be met with anger, arguing that remaining calm allows discerning people to identify who is acting more responsibly.

“You don’t respond to anger with anger or fire with fire, so let me be the one to receive your anger. While you’re doing that, people who can reason will realise that between the two of you, one is more mature than the other. Then they begin to ask, ‘How did this person end up in Parliament?’ and people may even conclude that just anyone can become an MP,” he stated

He concluded by urging people not to react to provocation but instead allow others to expose themselves through their actions.

“Learn not to meet anger with anger or stupidity with stupidity. Sit back and allow people to exhibit their stupidity,” he said
