Many Nigerian artistes lived in Ghana at a point - Davido

In the early stages of the careers of many Nigerian musicians, Ghana became a preferred destination, Afrobeats musician Davido has stated.

Speaking during a livestream with Nigerian streamer Davrel on his recent visit to Ghana, the award-winning singer said the country offered calm surroundings and genuine love from the people, making it a haven for artistes.

“There was a time when all Nigerian artistes were living in Ghana. It was so calm and peaceful, people showed love,” Davido said.

The singer also disclosed that he has kept a Lamborghini in Ghana since 2020, explaining that he drives it whenever he visits the country.

He jokingly described the luxury vehicle as his “official 30BG car.”

During the livestream, Davido also opened up about the cost of maintaining his celebrity lifestyle, revealing that he spends between $200,000 and $300,000 every month.

According to him, the figure covers only a portion of his monthly expenses and does not include the spending of his wife, Chioma Adeleke, purchases of luxury cars and jewellery, or other household costs.

“I spend between $200,000 and $300,000 every month, and that doesn’t even include my wife’s expenses or the rest of my household. It also doesn’t include expenses for the purchase of luxury cars and jewellery,” he said.

“There was a time when all Nigerian artists were living in Ghana. It was so calm and peaceful, people showed love, and it was clean too.”
