Nat, if you claim to speak in God's name, Scripture sets a clear standard for testing that claim. The Bible teaches that a prophet whose predictions fail is not speaking for the Lord.

Deuteronomy 18:21–22 says:

«"And if you say in your heart, 'How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?'—when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him."»

This principle is reinforced elsewhere:

- Jeremiah 28:9: "As for the prophet who prophesies peace, when the word of that prophet comes to pass, then it will be known that the Lord has truly sent the prophet."

- Ezekiel 13:6: "They have seen false visions and lying divinations. They say, 'Declares the Lord,' when the Lord has not sent them, and yet they expect the fulfillment of their word."

Anyone claiming apostolic or prophetic authority should be tested against these biblical standards, not simply accepted because of their title or following.
