Reggae musician Ras Kuuku has appealed to the family of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka to resolve their differences and allow peace to prevail amid tensions surrounding the funeral and burial of the Kristo Asafo founder.
Speaking in an interview with Okay FM on July 29, 2026, the Reggae musician said he was concerned by the disagreements that have followed the passing of the renowned spiritual leader, inventor and industrialist.
Ras Kuuku explained that Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s impact on Ghana’s development and his contributions to society made the situation particularly painful to witness.
He said the late apostle deserved a peaceful and dignified farewell rather than a burial overshadowed by disputes and legal disagreements among family members.
“I have seen what is going on in the Kantanka family. I was born in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency and this has come. I am begging for peace to rain so that Kantanka can go and rest,” he said.

The musician noted that he normally avoids commenting on private family matters, but the legacy and influence of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka compelled him to speak because of the respect many Ghanaians have for him.
“I usually do not want to speak about people’s family matters, but they should let peace rain. How can your father be dead and guns are being fired? How can siblings fight like that?” he questioned.
Ras Kuuku further stressed that the late apostle’s death had affected many people, especially residents of Dome-Kwabenya, where he was raised.
He said many community members are looking forward to a peaceful funeral ceremony where they can come together to honour a man they consider a national icon.
“The people of Dome say they want peace. Anytime the funeral is done, we will all come and honour the legend, so they should let peace rain in the family,” Ras Kuuku said.
The reggae artiste’s comments come after a series of disagreements among members of the Kantanka family over issues including the date and arrangements for Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s burial, as well as matters concerning his succession.
Despite an interim injunction issued by the Accra High Court seeking to halt the funeral proceedings, thousands of family members, friends, sympathisers and members of the Kristo Asafo Mission have gathered at Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region to pay their final respects to the late apostle.
