Aisha Modi reveals alleged cause of conflict between Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni

Maverick music enthusiast Aisha Modi has disclosed what she claims has been the reason behind the conflict between Daddy Lumba’s spouses, Akosua Serwaa and Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni.

Speaking in an interview on Aluta FM on July 30, 2026, Aisha claimed that the tension between the two women was largely fuelled by reactions on social media following a video involving Odo Broni after the one-week observance of Daddy Lumba in August 2025.

According to her, some two individuals recorded a video with Odo Broni after the ceremony, during which they allegedly made comments about what defines a “proper woman” in a relationship.

Aisha claimed that the individuals were heard saying that “A proper woman is someone who stands by her partner and takes care of him when he is sick,” a comment she believes was aimed at mocking Akosua Serwaa for allegedly being abroad while her partner was ill.

She explained that after the video went viral, many social media users focused on the comments and created a narrative around the issue, which she believes contributed to the tension between Daddy Lumba’s two spouses.

She added that both Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni are quiet individuals who could have achieved great things together if not for the reactions and interpretations that followed the social media discussions, which eventually created tension between them.

“It was the gays who did not speak well after the one-week observance. They recorded a video with Priscilla (Odo Broni), where she said that a proper woman is someone who stands by her partner and takes care of him when he is sick. The video went viral, causing netizens to focus on the issue. If it weren’t for the reactions from netizens, there would not have been any conflict between the spouses,” she said.

Aisha Modi further stated that she does not blame either of the two women for the disagreement, insisting that both Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni have done nothing wrong.

Rather, she blamed the late musician for the way he handled his marital affairs, arguing that his wealth gave him the option to marry more women if he desired, but the approach he took created challenges.

“I don’t blame Priscilla, and I don’t blame Akosua Serwaa either. Neither of the two women has done anything wrong. Lumba had enough wealth to marry even ten women or more if he wanted, but the way he went about things was not right,” Aisha noted.

Following the death of Daddy Lumba, disagreements have emerged among members of his family, particularly over issues surrounding his marriages and funeral arrangements.

One of the major disputes involved which of his widows was legally entitled to perform widowhood rites after his passing, with Akosua Serwaa filing a case seeking recognition as the late singer’s only surviving spouse.

However, a Kumasi High Court, presided over by Justice Dorinda Smith-Arthur, ruled that Akosua Serwaa could not be declared the sole surviving spouse of Daddy Lumba, stating that the evidence presented before the court did not prove her claim beyond a reasonable doubt.

The court subsequently ruled that both Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni should be recognised as surviving wives of the late highlife legend.
