‘A fan threatened to stab me’ – Rashid Metal on feud with Stonebwoy

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Rashid Metal has revealed that his long-standing feud with Stonebwoy went beyond music and once led to physical a confrontation involving their respective fans.

According to Rashid Metal, tensions surrounding the rivalry became so intense that he was once threatened with a knife by a fan over the controversy.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM on August 15, 2026, Rashid Metal recounted one disturbing incident, where a fan once threatened to stab him with a knife because of the controversy surrounding his “No Noise” issue with Stonebwoy.

“I went somewhere and someone threatened to stab me with a knife. I told the person I’m a strictly zongo boy so he can never threaten me,” he said.

He stated that he had deliberately avoided discussing the issue because he did not want to reignite the back-and-forth.

He, however, admitted that he is not someone who easily forgives people who wrong him.

“I didn’t want to talk about this thing much because of the back and forth. I’ve realized I’m the type of person who doesn’t forgive when someone steps on my toe. I’ve always been on my lane so if you cross the line, I won’t forgive you,” he added.

Rashid Metal, however, noted that he believes artistes have matured and should be willing to put past disagreements aside, especially when there is a bigger goal of promoting Ghanaian music.

“We’re all grown now and we have to let certain things go. Now, the motive is to project our country and music,” he stated.

He explained that he is currently focused on his music and does not intend to deliberately involve himself in controversies.

However, he warned that he would respond if anyone attacks or provokes him.

“As a dancehall artiste, I don’t want to involve myself in controversies now but if someone fires me, I will fire back. No one can harm me because I have backups,” he shared.

Rashid Metal also disclosed that the rivalry surrounding him and Stonebwoy was not limited to exchanges between the artistes, as fans also became involved.

He said the situation at one point became dangerous, with supporters attacking one another.

“That feud with Stonebwoy wasn’t just in music; it was physical too. It wasn’t among we the artistes; it’s fans to fans who were attacking each other,” noted.

According to the artiste, he did not take the threat lightly and warned the individual that he would face consequences if he attempted to harm him.

“Just because of the ‘No Noise’ controversy with Stonebwoy, a fan said he would stab me. I told him he would never go scot-free because I will open his skull,” he added.
