At the heart of this behaviour are jealousies, covetousness, unhealthy competitive spirits , pridefulness, an evil desire to cast themselves in a better light because of their own deep insecurities. They are also the ones who will literally enjoy any perceived misfortunes that befall you , little ralising that it is only a matter of time when they will also experience their own set of troubles.

Every extended family has toxic members. Sometimes the best way to safeguard one's marriage is to avoid close contact with toxic relatives (gossips, bad-mouthers, jealous individuals etc). This may mean deliberately living as far away as possible from extended family especially during the early part of the marriage (e.g. first 10 years). Most couples are still painfully adjusting to each other during the first decade of their marriage and need to invest a lot of work, effort and time in building and strengthening their relationship. The last thing any young married couple needs is interference from outsiders (extended family or even friends).
THE EARLY YEARS OF MARRIAGE ARE ALSO A PERIOD DURING WHICH A PRUDENT HUSBAND AND WIFE WILL TAKE THE DELIBERATE DECISION NOT TO INVOLVE THEIR EXTENDED FAMILIES (DADS’MUMS, SIBLINGS ETC) IN THEIR AFFAIRS. IT IS ALWAYS SAFER TO HAVE TRUSTED INDEPENDENT THIRD PARTIES IN MATTERS THAT REQUIRE COUNSELLING OR ARBITRATION. RELYING ON YOUR OWN FAMILIES TO HELP YOU RESOLVE DIFFERENCES WITH YOUR SPOUSE IS VERY RISKY BECAUSE THEY WOULD NATURALLY TAKE YOUR SIDE AND FURTHER COMPLICATE MATTERS FOR YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE. WORSE STILL LONG AFTER YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE HAVE RESOLVED YOUR DIFERENCES YOUR HUSBAND OR WIFE MAY DISCOVER THAT FOR MANY YEARS AFTERWARDS THEY ARE STILL HAVING TO DEAL WITH SOME OF YOUR UNFRIENDLY AND HOSTILE RELATIVES. RECRUITING THE SUPPORT OF YOUR FAMILY OR FRIENDS AGAINST YOUR SPOUSE DURING DISAGREEMENT CAN OFTEN PROVE FATAL TO YOUR MARRIAGE IN THE LONG RUN. WISE COUPLES LEARN TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH EACH OTHER (LISTENING MORE TO WHAT THE OTHER PERSON HAS TO SAY- THAT IS WHY GOD GAVE YOU TWO EARS AND ONLY ONE MOUTH), they learn to be considerate and respectful of the other person's point of view, being unselfish, being devoted and loyal to each other (no third parties must ever be allowed in the marriage). 1.Genesis 2:24 states that a man and woman become "one flesh," showing a deep physical, emotional, and spiritual bond.
2.Inseparable Bond: Jesus reaffirmed in Matthew 19:6 that God joins a couple together, so they are no longer two separate lives, but one united entity.
3.The Glue of Love: Colossians 3:14 calls love the ultimate virtue that binds a husband and wife together in "perfect unity."
4.Sacrificial Care: Ephesians 5:25 tells husbands to love their wives just as Christ loved the church, giving up His own desires for her well-being.
5.Patience and Kindness: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 defines true love as patient, kind, humble, and forgiving, which stops arguments from breaking the relationship
6.Mutual Respect: Ephesians 5:21 urges couples to submit to one another out of respect for Christ, balancing the partnership with humility and care
