Nigerian skit maker, Carter Efe and Afrobeats superstar Davido
Nigerian skit maker and live streamer Carter Efe has revealed that Afrobeats superstar Davido helped him earn close to $50,000 in a single night, describing the experience as the biggest financial breakthrough of his career.
Speaking in a recent interview, Carter Efe recounted how a live stream involving Davido generated between $45,000 and $50,000 for him, an amount he said he had never imagined making in one night, even after his successful skit-making and music venture.
“Davido made me make the biggest money of my life on a live stream. One night I became a big boy overnight,” he said.
The content creator added that the sudden financial success dramatically changed his life, joking that his ex-girlfriend wanted to return after hearing about his newfound wealth.

“Even my ex was trying to come back. Yeah, she cannot come back. The boy is gone, is far gone,” he said.
Providing more details about the windfall, Carter Efe said: “I made close to about fifty thousand, forty-five thousand dollars in one night just because of Davido. I’ve never seen that kind of money in my life before. When I was doing skits, when I even did music, I’ve never made that kind of money in one night.”
The skit maker used the moment to publicly thank Davido for the life-changing opportunity, saying the Afrobeats star played a major role in helping him reach a financial milestone he never thought possible.
Carter Efe also contrasted Davido’s generosity with the attitude of some other celebrities, stating that he values public figures who are willing to support upcoming talents.
“I don’t give a damn about who any celebrity is in Nigeria. If you don’t support me, if you don’t share your glory, you are nobody to me,” he said.
He went on to single out rapper Zlatan Ibile for special praise, describing him as one of the “realest” people in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
According to Carter Efe, Zlatan began supporting him when he had just 2,000 followers on social media, inviting him to his house, giving him clothes and designer shoes, and encouraging him before he became famous.
“He will tell me to come to his house. He will give me clothes. I didn’t even know the brands then. When I wore them outside, people would ask if I was wearing Gucci or Louis Vuitton. Zlatan is a real one; I can’t lie,” he said.
