You are choosing to be blind to what has transpired between these couples over the past 15 years, at least in the media space.

It can take women in abusive relationships several years to finally make the decision to leave, especially when they come from societies like Ghana, are not the breadwinners, and rely solely on their husbands financially. Some women will even wait until their children are old enough to understand the situation before they finally decide to leave.
