Owusu Bempah recalls heartbreak after woman he liked failed to show interest
Reverend Owusu Bempah has opened up about a woman he nearly dated more than 16 years ago, recounting how she invited him to meet in the United Kingdom but left before he arrived.
Speaking in an interview on Aluta FM on September 23, 2026, the founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International said the incident left him hurt and questioning whether his appearance or dressing had influenced the woman’s decision.
“One lady I almost dated in the UK over 16 years ago. She was the one who said we should meet and after I got to the location, she just left,” he recounted.
Rev Owusu Bempah mentioned that he initially wondered whether he had failed to impress her because of the clothes he was wearing.
“I was wondering if I wasn’t looking good enough or if the shirt and trousers I was wearing didn’t impress her. I was hurt because I felt she had deceived me,” he stated.
According to him, their conversations before the planned meeting had gone well, leaving him convinced that the relationship could develop into something serious.
“We had conversations and everything seemed okay. I even thought I had gotten a wife. She’s a nice lady,” he shared.

The preacher disclosed that he had developed strong feelings for the woman and even prayed that they would eventually end up together.
“I used to pray that we end up together even when I’m sleeping,” he said.
However, he revealed that the woman never contacted him again after the incident, leaving him uncertain about what happened.
“I didn’t hear from her again and I don’t know if she gave me a wrong number,” he noted.
Looking back more than a decade later, Rev Owusu Bempah said he does not believe there is any reason to search for the woman.
He further noted that he considers himself too old now to expect her to be interested in him.
“I’m now an old man, so I don’t think she will be interested in me. I was kind of young when we met and she didn’t like me, so there’s no point looking for her now,” he added.
