'He needs to be sacked' - MC Yaa Yeboah calls for Rex Omar's dismissal

Media personality MC Yaa Yeboah has called for Presidential Staffer in charge of the Black Star Experience, Rex Omar, to be sacked from office.

In a discussion on United Showbiz monitored by GhanaWeb on September 26, 2026, MC Yeboah noted that Rex Omar is incompetent and should therefore be replaced.

According to the outspoken media personality, Rex Omar does not seem to align himself with the President’s vision so far as the Black Star Experience is concerned, adding that the veteran musician’s statement about the government prioritising more pressing matters over concerts is unacceptable.

“He is a presidential staffer, and he is not even aligning with the President’s vision. He needs to be sacked. He was asked about the Black Star Experience, and here is the case where he was seen throwing the Finance Minister under the bus.

“How does the Black Star Experience have anything to do with the economy? Let’s be serious. That is why they don’t take us seriously, because if you can tell that the economy is bad, we can’t get money to buy tickets for events. Are we serious at all?” she said.

MC Yaa Yeboah additionally noted that Rex Omar should leave office to avoid being disgraced over what she described as his “incompetence.”

“Let’s be serious… If Rex Omar thinks that the job is difficult for him, he should resign for the sake of his dignity or, better still, look for a PR person to speak for him. Because anytime he speaks, he gives us a chance to scrutinise him,” she added.

'Black Star Experience is not a single event' – Rex Omar clarifies

MC Yaa Yeboah’s statement comes in response to an interview Rex Omar granted the media during the Ghana Diaspora Townhall meeting.

During the interview, Rex Omar, while making his statement, gave a scenario that “no one would prioritise an event when there is nothing to eat at home.”

According to him, the reason why the Black Star Experience is not being felt that much in the country is because the government has more pressing matters to deal with.
