‘Rex Omar will deliver if he gets the needed resources’ – Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo

Entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah‑Baidoo has argued that veteran highlife artiste Rex Omar would likely deliver on his mandate if provided with the necessary resources, citing his long‑standing advocacy for the creative industry.

Speaking during a conversation on UTV’s United Showbiz on September 27, 2026, Arnold said Rex Omar is passionate about the creative industry and had campaigned strongly for its development before assuming his current position.

“If he should campaign hard about it, get the position and be provided with the resources, what will prevent him from doing the job? He would definitely deliver, but where he finds himself, things are not pulling,” he stated.

According to the entertainment analyst, Rex Omar is naturally good at communicating and would ordinarily not struggle during interviews.

However, he believes the difficulties confronting the musician in his current role may be affecting his ability to articulate himself effectively.

“Nobody can communicate better than Rex. The problem is that things are not going well at the entity he has found himself in. Rex doesn’t struggle when he’s granting interviews, but clearly, you can see that he was struggling and that’s a problem,” he said.

He continued, “Because things are not going well in his unit, he’s overwhelmed. He wishes things were going as planned and for him to get resources to get the work done. He was very vocal during the campaigning season. Aside from that, the industry is so dear to him and he’s someone who wants to see the industry thrive.”

Arnold also questioned the apparent contradiction between government claims about the economy and comments that the country is facing financial difficulties.

“One moment, they say the economy is stable, but why will you get Rex to come and say the economy is not looking good? They’re paying debt and other stuff, why? If not desperation, I’m sure they would have coined it in a different way,” he added.
