Entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has urged the public to give the Black Star Experience initiative time to take shape instead of prematurely concluding that it will fail.
He stressed that the success of major national initiatives ultimately benefits the entire country and therefore encouraged Ghanaians to support the project regardless of political affiliations.
“Now they said Black Star Experience is on the tarmac, so let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. Let’s give them a grace period and see what will happen next. Let’s put them into prayers because it’s not easy.
“At the end of the day, if everything goes well, it’s for all of us. It will affect all of us if things don’t go well, so let’s not wish them bad,” he stated in a discussion on United Showbiz.
He also expressed concern over what he describes as a lack of continuity in Ghana’s tourism initiatives, particularly projects associated with the ‘Year of Return’ and ‘Beyond the Return’ campaigns.
According to him, the initiatives spearheaded by former Ghana Tourism Authority CEO Kwasi Agyeman and his team generated significant international exposure for Ghana, making the lack of continuity in subsequent administrations disappointing.

He said political changes should not necessarily result in the abandonment of projects initiated by previous governments.
“On a more serious note, this is sad. If you check the work the likes of Kwasi Agyemang and his group did with the Year of Return all the way to Beyond the Return, because of lack of continuity and governance we didn’t even understand, it’s very sad,” he said.
He continued, “The Year of Return and Beyond the Return, the kind of exposure that brought to Ghana. I’ve actually thought about the gains. It shouldn’t be a problem if a new government comes into power and decides not to continue what the other was doing. If you believe that what you want to do in replacement of what was ongoing will be better, just do it well.”
Arnold argued that new administrations should focus on improving existing initiatives rather than abandoning them solely because they were introduced by a previous government.
“If you decide that because of politics you will trash the projects the other government was doing, so you will also start yours and you do it anyhow, it’s not fair,” he stated.
