Joint 77 opens up about his past relationship with Shatta Wale
Ghanaian musician and former SM Militant member Joint 77 has revealed details of his past relationship with dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.
He asserted that the dancehall musician benefited from their friendship after providing him with accommodation and covering his bills for about a year.
Speaking in an interview on Max TV on September 28, 2026, Joint 77 said he allowed Shatta Wale to stay at his place for free and took responsibility for expenses, including water and electricity bills.
“Shatta Wale was the one who benefitted from me. I gave him a place to stay for free for about a year. The water bill was on me, light bill and everything was on me,” he said.
He also alleged that Shatta Wale later took back a Toyota Camry he had bought for him with the assistance of the police.
According to the artiste, the car had developed a fault, prompting him to return it to the dealer after Shatta Wale told him to do so if he was not satisfied with it.

“He took the Toyota Camry he bought for me back with the police. The car he bought was faulty and he told me to take it back if I think it’s not good for what I wanted. I took it back and I called the dealer,” he stated.
He explained that the dealer agreed to change the vehicle, but he had to add some money before receiving another car.
Joint 77 suggested that the situation surrounding the vehicle may have contributed to the eventual breakdown of their relationship, saying he might still have been with Shatta Wale if he had the car.
“The dealer decided to change it for me. I added some money and they gave me another car. If that car was with me by now, maybe I would have still been with Shatta Wale,” he noted.
He further disclosed that there are other details about their relationship that he has never shared publicly.
“There’s a whole lot I haven’t spoken about to anybody,” he added.
