Andy Dosty is a seasoned media personality
Seasoned media personality and disc jockey, Andy Dosty, has broken his silence after his name emerged in an alleged visa fraud scandal involving the submission of media personnel for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States.
His reaction follows concerns raised by the Minority in Parliament over the Ghana Tourism Authority’s (GTA) submission of 50 names to the United States Embassy as media personnel expected to participate in activities related to the tournament.
According to the Minority, only two of the individuals were verified as professional media practitioners, while the remaining 48 reportedly had no demonstrable professional media backgrounds.
Ranking Member of Parliament’s Select Committee on Sports, Vincent Assafuah, said the revelation emerged after the US Embassy’s Fraud Prevention Unit conducted due diligence and verification on the names submitted by the GTA.
“Of the 50 names submitted, only two persons, Philip Narh and Andy Dosty, both associated with Multimedia, were identified as media practitioners,” Assafuah said.
Reacting to the development in an interview on Asempa FM, Andy Dosty questioned how his name ended up on the list, insisting that he did not benefit from any arrangement involving the National Sports Authority (NSA) or the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) for the World Cup.
According to the media personality, his connection to the matter may have arisen from his relationship with Nana Gyimah, the CEO of Tribe Culture Fest, whose company has also been mentioned in connection with the alleged scandal.
Andy Dosty explained that Gyimah had been his friend for about four years and was the person he usually contacted to renew his visa whenever he wanted to travel.

However, he said the visa renewal request he made to his friend around March 2026 was delayed because Gyimah was working on the NSA’s list and had put his request aside.
“How did I end up on the media list for the World Cup? I believe the NSA scandal may have a connection with Tribe. The CEO of Tribe has been my friend for about four years now, and he is the person I usually ask to renew my visa whenever I want to travel.
“Somewhere around March, I asked him to renew my visa, but he delayed because he was working on the NSA’s list, so he had put mine aside. I kept waiting, but he did not attend to it for me,” he said.
Andy Dosty further explained that months later, while he was in London, the CEO of Tribe Culture Fest asked him to contact the CEO of the GTA because the authority was putting together a list.
He said the development left him wondering how his name could have been included in the list when he had not been involved in the preparations for the World Cup or any related delegation.
“I was somewhere in London when he asked me to call the CEO of the GTA. I asked him what was happening, and he explained that they were putting a list together. I then asked how I could have ended up on that list because I was not part of what they were doing. I was not part of the World Cup delegation,” he said.
The media personality denied any involvement in the alleged visa fraud, insisting that he had no dealings with either the NSA or the GTA regarding his US visa.
He maintained that the circumstances under which he obtained his visa could be independently verified by the US Embassy, stressing that it was not secured through arrangements connected to the World Cup, the GTA or Tribe Culture.
“Anybody can go to the US Embassy and verify how I obtained my US visa. It had nothing to do with the World Cup, the GTA or Tribe,” he said.
Andy Dosty also expressed concern about the potential damage the allegations could cause to his reputation, arguing that his name and professional standing were important to his livelihood.
He said he was struggling to understand why his name had been linked to the matter and disclosed that he had intended to meet his lawyer to discuss the situation.
“My name is the only thing I have to live on, so nobody should defame me. I am getting angry, but I am trying to keep my cool. I had a meeting scheduled with my lawyer in the afternoon, but we could not meet because he said he did not understand what was happening, and I also do not understand the situation,” he said.
The disc jockey further challenged any suggestion that he benefited from arrangements involving the three institutions, maintaining that he paid his visa fees himself and independently secured his appointment date.
He said he had evidence to support his account, including a receipt for the payment he made, and questioned why his name was being linked to the alleged scandal.
“I paid for my visa by myself and looked for my own appointment date, which I have evidence to that effect,” he said.

@asempa_fm How did I appear in the conversation that I was part of the media list to the World Cup? How I got my visa was not at the expense of the NSA. I am pained to hear my name in public in a way that could defame my name. — Andy Dosty #Sportsnite ♬ original sound - ASEMPA FM
