Shatta Wale has explained why he invited his father on stage during his birthday concert
Popular Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has explained why he invited his father on stage during his Shattafest birthday concert.
He said he wanted him to witness the love and support he receives from fans.
Speaking during a TikTok Live on October 29, 2026, the musician said the moment was meant to remind his father of their past disagreements over his decision to pursue a music career.
According to Shatta Wale, his father had opposed his musical ambitions when he first expressed interest in becoming an artiste, leading to several arguments between them.
How Shatta Wale built a brand Ghana can’t ignore
He explained that inviting his father on stage during Shattafest was his way of showing him that the people who support his music are the very people he had always spoken ill of, while trying to convince him to accept his career choice.
"When I called my father on stage to come and speak to the crowd, I just wanted him to know that this is what he was fighting me about. When I said I wanted to do music, my father argued with me about it several times," he said.
Shatta Wale shared that he wanted his father to appreciate the people who had embraced his music and helped him share his message over the years.
"That day on my birthday, I wanted to show him the lovely people God has given me. These were the people God was sending me to come and share my message with and this is what I was telling him back at home," he added.
