Ghanaian Afrobeats singer Kelvyn Boy has weighed in on the ongoing conversations in Ghana and abroad following the tragic killing of 12-year-old Javits Frimpong.

Speaking on United Showbiz in a discussion monitored by GhanaWeb’s Joseph Henry Mensah on November 2, 2026, Kelvyn Boy stated that Black parents should educate their children about discrimination and the challenges they may face because of their race.

According to him, Black people living in the diaspora should be mindful of how they conduct themselves, particularly when interacting with individuals who were born and raised in Western countries.

He explained that some Black people born in these countries tend to identify more with the dominant white population and may consider themselves superior to Black immigrants.

He therefore urged parents to educate their children about marginalisation and the possible challenges they could encounter while living in Western countries.

“The parents should make their children aware that they’re Black. There are some things that, as a Black person, you should know. They shouldn’t get carried away by the fact that they’re abroad, and they should understand that not everyone is their friend.

“Therefore, they should be careful about how they conduct themselves and even how they play,” he said.
