even though Ghana's got some talent, our artistes only "cook" their songs for local ears and not international one, unlike our naija brothers who "cook" theirs for both local and international ears. when they think global, they will improve their work and promote Ghana music in the long run. More grease to their elbows.

Ghanaian music is fine but if you want to put them it styles, you can count not more than 5. Every music sounds like the other, just changing the lyrics and somebody calls himself a composer. Well known tunes from my childhood days are coming back back with different artistes claiming to be their composers. Original composers are very very few and the beats are one-way. In almost all the styles, the bass is a "d f s d' cycle and nothing more. So if a foreigner, listening to Ghanaian music for its music, but not its message (the lyrics), it is entirely monotonous.

The problem is that we have lost who we are. Back in the days were ghanaians. Today, we are a bit Americans, somewhat British and figure the rest out yourself nation. C k man, ben brako, nana tuffour, adomako nyamekye, papa yankson, just to name a few, were all great ghanaian musicians in a unique way. That was Ghana music. The music in Ghana now nothing but jamma for inter -college and a bit of French Africans shake your ass dance. So before you wonder why we are losing out, lets start by finding out identity and the way home first.
