The average West African inside it and outside of Africa will not admit some of their own ancestors too where captured and shipped overseas during thhe Middle Passage. Thank you Opoku! As a biracial woman, I feel offended when that ugly term is used to describe me. It makes you feel as though, you're not part GHANAIAN or better yet, a human being. Why make a person feel an outcast?

As for this half caste term, it'll take a very long while to die out completely in Ghana b'ços the illiteracy rate is freaking high even after 56 years of independence. For this reason, you'll keep hearing this stupid word or term in Ghana. However, majority wouldn't use with the intention to insult you, it's the only word they know that can describe a mixed. Either way, feel proud that you are mixed. A color many desire to have but can not. Lots of people are paying so much just for your color. You're unique and I'm proud you are.
