I always shake my head at people who brag about material things such as jewellery. Who cares if the ring cost 9000 Euros? Isn't the character of the person and the type of relationship more important? Honestly, because of attitudes such as this, many men feel that they have to spend their savings on expensive engagement rings. There is not much money left after marriage and this can lead to tension and eventually the marriage will fall apart. I think that it is more important for a man to respect and treat a woman well(and vice versa) instead of him buying her expensive things. My advice to men - do not waste your time on women who are too materialistic and who always want you to buy them things. Those type of women will end up leaving you or cheating on you with someone who is willing to support their extravagant lives.
