Hose, let me tell you the following:

A few years back a Black American friend asked me why African girls normally do not marry Black American men. I replied that our women are 'deeper' than the average American girl who is looking for a good-looking and funny man. Under those conditions, a 'pretty funny boy with no job' can be a great catch. Our women are looking for a man who can also provide for them and their children if that outcome occurs. I do agree that this is not an 'absolute' but it's generally the case.

So Hose, which qualities of a man are we going to assess in the 'beauty pageant' you are thinking about?

They rank from parts 1-7 for the crowning moment, type "miss world 2013 crowning moment" and you'll be glad you did. I guess this time our local organizers got it right and I applaude them for a good job done. They should look out for such girls to represent us. On the whole Naa was splendid. Her final answer to me was the best out of the top three. However, her confident level seem a bit lower than the top 2 contestants. This is one thing our local organizers should work on our reps. It was not because of her skin, she has the same chocolate skin tone as Nigeria's Agbani Darego, who won miss world.

Whether in football or entertainment, Ghanaian mentality is the same: 'we are 3rd best' 'we were amongst the best 8 at the world cup' , ' we had the best placement in africa', 'we lost due to discrimination' etc. These modes of thinking belong to losers; they are loser' mentality! Competitions are meant to be won. Your Miss Ghana didnt win , pure and simple. An Egyptian had won this competition many years ago and our Agabani Darego did same in year 2001. There could be only one winner and your Miss Ghana didnt win and i wonder when Ghanaians would jettison their losers' mentalitity!
