Sonnie Badu allegedly made similar comments about some Ghanaian gospel singers, and the whole Ghana taught he was being "huuhuu". Was he right?

Precious Hannah!!! You went too far with your article. I guess you are looking for fame. I am a gospel singer my self and I hate to give damaging criticism like the one you wrote. As good christian be mindful of what you put out there. Let me give you a very constructive criticism...... First of all you do not have that gospel beautiful voice. The voice you have is for hymes, and does not attract praise and worship, secondly, you need to come up with lyrics and titles, which have never be used in the market before. Thirdly, try to engage your fans into your world before you start damaging others. To be continued...

My fellow Ghanaians, I want to respond to this article to explain my point of view which has been muffled with ideas and words I did not use. This article REALLY twisted my opinion about Gospel music in Ghana. I did not say what they have written in the article and had no intentions to condemn anyone or anybody. The interviewer used my words in a different way to make this article more controversial to get readers like you to want to read it or comment. It is rather unfortunate that such a thing could happen. What I had originally said was that, as Ghanaian Gospel Musicians, we should really make good use of our God given talents in music to touch lives and not just for the fun of it. I see this as a ministry in serving our maker and reaching out to the broken hearted and the less privileged ones so let’s do it whole- heartedly. This means that, more meaning should be put into song compositions and renditions so that they will touch lives in different ways.
I will rather you read the main goal of this article which is to support our brothers and sisters in the prison system and help them better embrace life and find meaning and connection with God.
I do not want any ill-feelings or hate to come from this as I was not brought up that way and not my goal and intentions. My parents raised us to love anyone even those that hate us, I don’t hate anyone. May the good Lord shower His blessings on our endeavors as we serve and worship Him. God bless you, Peace!
