I believe some black men and women are living in self denial.Truly they are not happy with their complexion. Let me tell you a story, a young dark Sudanese lady I met about 10 years ago. After a year I went to the same store and the lady's complexion has turned into brown.
I asked one of my Sudanese friend about the lady and he said, we Sudanase have distinct features and when these ladies go back home their mothers cannot even recognize them.

He had been infected with ''vitiligo'' which tends to be very chronic so he had to undergo a normal skin restoration process medically to completely remove the 'melanin' on his skin layer to give him a uniform colour... And the reason why he did that was the 'vitiligo' had almost completely eaten all his skin, you cant any colour aside, a bleached colour and his natural black colour.... So therefore the doctor adviced him to undergo a uniform skin restoration treatment to have a unoform skin colour... Thats what happened in short
