I got dread too my dear. Its a pity most of our people don't understand niether do they want to accept it. I wash my hair each and every day. Am chemical free. I don't waste my money on Brasilien, Togolese and what have you's ...

I don't force people into dreadlocks, so i don't see why one can stand infront of me and ask me to shave it away. People with rastas dont wash their hair for months, is that healthy?? People with weaveon and cornrolls too. Is that healthy?? Absolute NO.

It's very difficult to be different in our society, all kids have to fit in a mould to be considered "good".

I have 2 daughters myself and would love it if they would rather have locks as they grow rather than using all the crazy chemicals on the market with its associated side effects.

My first daughter is 8 yrs old and has shoulder length kinky hair, that has never been touched with any chemical, all i use for her hair is regular shampoo and shea butter. It takes a little bit of time for me to fix it for her but that's when we have our father-daughter moment. She tells me stuff and we just have fun.

I STILL HVE MY HAIR IN A BAG...I WILL ADVICE EVERY ONE TO LOCK UP THEIR HAIR AT LEAST ONCE IN THEIR LIFETIME. U WILL BE SHOCKED AT THE REVELATIONS THAT WILL COME YOUR WAY. ITS A SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE, FOR REAL.....
IF YOU STILL HVE UR LOCKS, THEN KEEP IT. GO NATURAL WITH HOW YOU WEAR YOUR HAIR MY SISTAH.....HVE SOME DIGNITY IN YOURSELF!

Well, as a grandchild of a fetish priest, I can say without apology that dreadlock is and has been always part of our culture. However, it was mostly reserved for fetish priests and priestess as well as children who were supposedly, given to their parents by these priests and priestess. In short, dreadlock has always been associated with something spiritual so if modern people want to copy that style, they must then live more spiritual lives.
