The wages they get paid! Imagine drs. & nurses embarking on an ilegal work stoppage on the flimsy excuse that their lives are in danger. Even after firm assuarances,followed by verifiable steps have been instituted,these people,at the urging of a politically motivated leadersship, persist in remaining on strike! And t5hese are people who live in state bungalows,paying only nominal rent, and pretty well keeping their own hours of work.
There is a simplle solution to this perrenial problem: Legislate a back-to-work order,with stiff fines to break the stranglehold of this cabal that is hell bent on playing russian roullette with the lives of poor and innocent Ghanaians.
But guess what,the govt is going reach an accomodation with with these people,and actually pay them for the time spent being off the job!
I am damn sure not all these drs.& allied health workers are enthused about the 'political chess-game' their respective leaders are playing.
The time has come for the govt to isolate the leadership,many of whom are double,triple and even quadruple 'dippers' who stand to reap a huge bonanza each time they instigate these strike actions!
