SirRiver, this is a complicated issue. Ashanti chiefs, like community leaders in other parts of GH, will welcome any outsider who can contribute positively to the development of their communities. The case of Muntari illustrates one such instance. We've even seen the enstoolment of white men in some communities. However, I think these are exceptions when it comes to the issue of tribalism.

Sulley Muntari is from Konongo due to his birth. Originally, his grand parents were from Togo. They are from the Kotonkoli tribe but even his mother, Hajia Kande has never been to Togo since their came to Ghana. I think even ...

They are from the Kotonkoli tribe but even his mother, Hajia Kande has never been to Togo since their came to Ghana. I think even Hajia Kande was even born in Konongo. Sulley and l were class mate in elementary school before the king of Konongo recruited him to play for his team Oweriman and later sold him to Liberty professionals. Sulley has no where to go than Konono so it is god that he is doing something for his town.
