We need a progressive policy. All adverts in Ghana must be created by wholly owned Ghanaian businesses and the songs and celebrities in the adverts must be wholly Ghanaian. The celebrities and musicians must receive royalties. All the wholly owned Ghanaian entities must use wholly owned Ghanaian banks like ADB.

We must move into the era of music/movies as a service (MAAS). At least 7 out of every 10 songs, movies and TV series played on our television stations, radio stations and entertainment centres must be wholly Ghanaian and must be produced in Ghana. These stations and entertainment centres must pay on a monthly or annual basis royalties to the Ghanaian artists. The amounts paid must be reasonable taking into consideration the profits of the entertainment establishments. However they must not pay any money whatsoever to the foreign artists because of the negative effect it would have on our GDP. The Ghanaian artists must use wholly owned Ghanaian banks like ADB. Many people can recall great shows like: By the fireside, Ultimate paradise, I told you so, The road to Kukurantumi, things we do for love, Akan drama with obra and co, home sweet home, Dr Paa Bobo´s songs etc

There is lack of will and this must change.

FIPAG is trying to start a war that will consume Ghanaian actors and actresses. Nollywood contributes 1.2% to Nigeria's GDP of USD 510 Billion which is USD6.12Billion . The USD6.12Billion is 15% of Ghana's GDP of USD 40.71 (2012). In effect, whislt Nollywood can do away with Ghana and all her actors and actresses, Ghana need Nigeria to engage her actors and actresses and also to market her (i.e Ghana's ) movies. So, FIPAG, we are waiting for you to take your action that will burn your 'fingers' .

Ghanaians should stop being inward -looking and start embracing diversity. Let the Nigerians come. We are one people divided by stupid colonial borders.

I want to see Ghanaian Artists collaborating with Nigerian Artists to make movies on the independence movements in West Africa portraying Kwame Nkrumah, Obafami Awolowo , Nnamdi Azikiwe.

I want to see Ghanaian producers collaborating with Nigerians colleagues to make movies portraying our common heritage and history.

This is the way forward and not protecting some local Ghanaian Industry which does not even exceed.

Diversity is progress. Come one , come all Nigerians. We are one people.

FIPAG should think of how to raise the standards of the production, require the Kumawood (hate this name btw) actors to invest in improving their craft. Acting is not just a matter of standing in front of camera and talking like most of our local celebrities do; it takes tremendous work. Have you wondered why people get paid millions to act? FIPAG should focus on getting the private sectors involved to improve the overall production climate, and they wouldn't have to worry about the influx of foreign actors. Additionally, producers are business people, and they put their investments where they reap the high value. If foreign actors will help the bottom line, they would go for them.

Mr. Hackman, Please do forgive me, I don't get your point right. It seems like we are trying to prevent Nigeria Actors from taking role in our local movies. Ghana Actors also go there and take role in their movies too. What if Nigerians also decides to use Ghanaian in their local movies? It also seems to me like, "I stands to be corrected," you want to limit or block the local movie market. For instance, if the local movie producers pay levy to FIPAG and Actors guilt by using Nigeria Actors, what good will that do to local Ghanaian actors? Will that keep the local Ghanaian actors in business? Or FIPAG and Actors guilt will use the levy to produce local movies in a way of keeping Ghanaian local actors in business? I just don't get it and don't see the need for the levy. Are we trying to collapse the local movie industry? This is a free market with free entry and exist. Let us not introduce any cartel to scared people from the market. Movie making is all about market strategy on how to make a higher dividend and I don't think producers are just producing for the love of the industry. Let say all thing being equal, the local movie producers pay tax to the government, levy to the FIPAG and the Actors guilt, don't you think this is enough to frustrate the producers to lay down their tools and the local actors you are trying to protect will become jobless? Does the Ghanaian English movie producers also pay levy to FIPAG and Actors guilt for starring Nigeria actors? If yes, what is the levy use for? It is the job of the Actors guilt to protect actors and that is why actors are suppose to join the guilt but imposing levy on producers for using foreign actors is not one of the strategy. Mr. Hackman, I think we need to reconsider this levy issue. God Bless Ghana.
