Whether you like it or not, that's part of the Southern Ghana(Coastal Ghana)history.
Our association with white people can't be under estimated. Otherwise, why do we still have christianity and Islam flourishing all over Ghana. Those were beliefs brought over by white people and Arabs and why do we still cling to them? Ask yourself that question and just maybe you would understand why the coastal people still bear those names. Going to school to be educated was the idea of the white man eons ago. Why are we still sending our kids to school to be educated? You see there will be no end to this in sight if we start recalling and getting into stuff. So just let it be Egya Koo, OK?.
I have an advice for your white friend at Movenpick, though. Ask him to get educated in the history of Ghana and for that matter, any country colonized by his people and he would realize the "white" names abound in such places, especially those portions of the said countries that had direct contact with his forefathers. A little bit of education won't hurt both you and your friend, would it?.....lol
