Very impressed by this lady's mentality. Sounds like you should be a motivational speaker as well. I am not into fashion and I have never seen any of your work but your attitude will take you very far. All the best

Let us for a minute stop this insanity in Ghana where a few third rate individuals in selected fields think there is some value in the fad of the day.
Is it not a fact that in Ghana most would rather buy second hand clothes than newly sown clothing made with local prints? Do we not buy even items as private as used underwear from second hand clothes? Can anyone point me to any gathering or event in Ghana where our so-called stars came all dressed up in made in Ghana ware from head to toe? To top this inferiority complex blood that flows in all of us do we not prefer HHolland or Dutch prints to locals and do our men and women alike not prefer artificially bleached skin on men and women to naturally unvarnished Ghanaian skin? Do we not spend obscene amounts on imported clothing just so we can stand out above all? Our designs and styles are nothing but show pieces for the curious in most foreign markets and are not patronized even by Ghanaians in the Diaspora. The entrepreneurial spirit also requires picking winners and losers in ideas and those ideas with chances to succeed.

First off - who hurt you? And who told you fashion designing is the "fad of the day"? Where were you in the sixties when there was Madame Butterfly in Ghana? Fashion designing is a really old profession.
I don't think you read the article, because if you did you should have noted what Vanessa said about the industry expanding.
As for the copious uses of "we" in mentioning that "we" like bleached skin, etc, etc, speak for yourself.
Also, our stars are stars. Not because we call them so, but because they are doing their best.
Don't bother replying B

i am sure you have a very good point. however when you put it across like you have, i think it takes the focus away from the perfectly sensible point you are making.

If all Ghanaians will think like you do,I should think, things wouldn't have been the way it is today.
I pray that God leads and guides you in all your undertakings,so you might discern what he likes you to pursue in your designing.
IT'S GOOD YOU DO NOT SETTLE ONLY FOR GHANA'S FASHION TYPE,BUT TO THINK BIGGER THAN THE OTHERS,GOING INTERNATIONALLY.
There is nothing you cannot do if the determination is there.
Because, when your heart decides the destination, your mind will design the plan to reach there.
AND WHEN YOU DECIDE TO DO SOMETHING IN YOUR MIND,THE KNOW-HOW WILL FOLLOW,IN THE END.
That's the advice I can leave with you.
GOD BLESS YOU.
