From what I gathered by reading your comments on there, I could deduce you have this soft spot for this military man individual and maybe you got angry by his comments on the models.

Have you made your feelings known to this military individual?
Going back and forth through the postings between the two of you, I also gathered he likes you. So what kinda games are you two playing with each other?

Look.. I'm sorry if my comment offended you but I didn't know then, that there was more than meets the eye.

What you seem to have lost sight of, in these comparisons is the mere fact that the Black Americans, for one reason or another have been made to psychologically feel inferior in everything they do. So they are in a perpetual mode of trying to prove something to become accepted.

Both you and I know that slavery did that to them.
Remember Michael Jackson? Michael even took it a step further. After bleaching and straightening his kinky hair and his nose out of shape, what did he do?
(Note that he blamed his skin colour change on a skin disease but even the kindergaten kids knew it was BS.)
He was so ashamed of his own skin colour that he "sired" white kids while there are millions of orphaned black kids who needed parents to foster them. He could have adopted some of them and given them a good home. But his mind was so psychology distorted by inferiority complex that he wanted to 'prove' something.

Look at some of their rich athletes and movie stars all with 'trophy' white wives trying to prove that "they
have arrived".... something that was unattainable and their forefathers could have been lynched for even thinking about it, is now within their reach.

Even the respectable Sidney Portier fell fell prey to that psychological crew up.

In a way, the Black Americans and other African slave descedants can be 'excused' for having those kinda feelings. The indignity of slavery shaped their psyche'.

On the other side of this comparison, we as "pure" Africans did NOT have the experience of slavery indignities the Black Americans suffered, so we feel very comfortable in our skin.

So the fact that somebody with the same colour as ours on the other side of the Atlantic ocean is beaching his or her skin doesn't mean every 'pure' African should be doing the same.

I will admit that it's all a matter of personal or individual choices but the basis of your argument for sure doesn't hold water and you know it.

It's akin to comparing apples and oranges.
For sure they are all fruits but their internals are completely different. Even their trees are different.

Lordina is now a role model to a lot of our young women and girls whether she likes it or not. So whatever she does could be blindly copied by these young girls and women.
Bleaching of the skin can send a wrong message to millions of her admirers who will interprete that as meaning being black is not good enough.
Being comfortable in one's natural skin colour also exudes self confidence.

In Africa, our psychology has not been shaped wholly by slavery so we don't have to feel inferior to anyone based on the colour of our skin. We lived in this skin colour before the advent of slavery and we should still be comfortable living in it. We can take care of our skin with oils and other soft aids that can maintain its colour but not change it completely and expose ourselves to a whole litany of skin diseases, the most common being skin cancer.

Scientific studies have shown that lighter skinned people are more prone to skin cancers than darker skinned people. So that's something we should be thankful for and NOT mess with nature.

We have nothing to prove to anyone based on the colour of our skin.
