During the late 70's Peter Tosh was just as popular as bob marley. I think its time to give tribute to peter tosh. By the way, Bob Marley had alot of help in writing his songs. Aston Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Rita Marley wrote most of bob marley's popular songs. Bob Marley is overrated and without the Wailers Band he is nothing.

It is never true that Aston Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Rita Marley etc ever wrote any of those songs. Dont be fooled by the linear notes credits on some of his albums. Bob credited those friends, including Vincent Ford, purported to have written "No Woman No Cry," in order for him to extricate himself from a contract he had signed earlier in his career with Cayman Music.
Bob Marley wrote about 99.9% of his songs.

Inusah,
Do you which Marley's song is Steve Wonder's favorite? "Jamming." Marley's beats has been sampled across several musical genres by many musicians.
And he was a great influence on Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and several others. Only Johny Nash would "steal" his songs.
He also has influenced Neo-Soul acts as Eryka Badu, Lauryn Hill, Les Nubians, etc., the guitarist Tracy Chapman and a number of rock musicians.
As well, he has influenced rappers from Mos Def, Fugees (Wycleff), Tupac, Buster Rhymes, Snoop Dog, to KRS-1.
Rita Marley's book "NO WOMAN, NO CRY: MY LIFE WITH BOB MARLEY" is one book you have to read (if you have not already). Hettie Jones, ex-wife of the late American poet Amiri Baraka, contributed to the book.
Among other things, the book tells readers popular Bob's songs that are wrongly attributed to Bob Marley (but rather written by Rita Marley),controversies surrounding the decision to remove parts of Marley's throat (a decision made by world-famous footballer and Bob Marley's manager Allan Cole), men and women who came to claim part of Bob Marley's estate saying they were Bob's children only for DNA to prove them wrong (some of these men-sons of Bob Marley were later found to be older than Bob himself), and women who also came forward claiming Bob asked them to abort their babies (with Bob Marley) claiming the babies had survived the abortions, etc. DNA drove most away.
The book also discusses the bi-racial Cindy Breakspeare as Bob Marley's wife, rather than the dark-skinned Rita Marley, by Chris Blackwell, co-owner of Island Records. The idea, it turned out, was to make Bob Marley more appealing to the white world. Rita Marley went along with it without complaining.
There was a negotition going on with the Marley Estate that would have made Bob Marley the richest "dead celebrity" (beating Elvis Presley) if the Estate agreed to have Marley's image commercialized.
I don't know how far this negotiation went or how far it has gone as of this writing. I followed it a few years back. Finally, Bob Marley has consistently remained in the Top 10 of the richest "dead celebrities."
Thanks.

OUR COMMENT: Good point. And we will hazard that Edward Seaga shaved reality, as he always would do to win fraudulent elections, and then some.
Even back then, Bob Marley, with the Wailers, was a top ranking world superstar, period!

Bob Marley was/is simply the best. It is also difficult trying to live without his songs, everyone of them
Have a great weekend!

The government must therefore ensure that the NCCE is well resourced to carry out its duties.
Past and future winners of the National Constitution quiz must be honored and it must be played on radio to enlighten the public.
