Unfortunately, abject superstition is ruling in Ghana, with our own Presidents leading the horde of uncivilised and superstitious citizenry. What a pity! What are these people going to graduate from being developing people to developed people? Not a chance! They'll all die as they are. The lady, identified as Barbara Boakye-Yiadom,
according to a young man in Kumasi travelled
from the North American country to Ghana
about three years ago for medical care.
“I know her, she is my mother’s sister and
came from Canada about three years ago to
access medical care…,” Eugene said sorrowfully
on Adom FM’s Midday News on Friday.
Social media and some online websites are
flooded with pictures of the lady claiming she
is a witch.
But these claims, Eugene said, are not true.
He revealed further that the family know
Madam Boakye-Yiadom has mental problems
and has a folder at the Ankaful Psychiatric
hospital where she was receiving treatment.
Prior to leaving her home without the
knowledge of her family, Madam Boakye-
Yiadom underwent a surgical operation and
was still recuperating.
Eugene added further that Madam Boakye-
Yiadom’s four children are all resident in
Canada.
According to him, he was compelled to come
out to disclose the true identity of the lady
after seeing her pictures circulating on social
media.

Fact is, this is a woman. Her son was interviewed in the midday news today on Adom fm. ( u can go to their audio and listen). she has actually has mental illness and had even returned from Canada not long ago. Her hair was shaved due to an illness and had even just had surgery. If u have a look at the full photos, one can realise that she even had stitches.
She had left the psychiatric hospital and they were even looking for her. Only for this news and pictures to turn up and people calling her a witch. It's sad.

The son could not hold his emotions but started to cry during the interview. Imagine if this was your mother, your mother. Who was left naked at Madina for all to see, and even left naked at the police station and Whose naked pictures are all over the place. Imagine if THIS is your mother? What would you do? How would you feel?? I can only imagine.

About time we stop jumping to conclusions about just anything that happens and ask ourselves 'what/how would I feel if this person was my relation?

Also, Education on mental illness should be more so that we can also avoid calling people witches and wizards just cos we are so paranoid ! Smh

She then left the home unnoticed only to be found at Madina.

This is somebody who own stores in central Accra and doing well financially.

When are we as a people going to learn and understand mental illness, and stop branding persons with mental illnesses as witches and wizards.

And shame unto the other news outlets that put up the whole picture. I wish the family would get a lawyer and sue their asses.

I felt bad when I saw the whole picture on another site. All I could see was a woman who could be suffering from dementia and that thing in between her legs people are saying is a stolen womb could be a medical condition called uterine prolapse.

Let us try to be sensitive towards our neighbors and always try and put yourself in other people's shoes. We all don't know our future. Today is her next it could be any of us, so sad.
