If marijuana has medicinal value, it does not mean we should legalize it, because some misguided people will jump on it and abuse the drug as they do in some Caribbean countries. Remember our brothers in diaspora have lost their culture and so they do not know where they are going. We should show them the path to take and not to copy them.

We can't even keep our children educated in good classrooms.

We can't even run our hospitals and clinics like they are supposed to be run.

And now some dopeheads want ganja legalized so that our streets will be littered with more nutcases to overload our health care system which is already stretched to it limits because of lack of funds and mismanagement.

The western countries that have legalized marijuana have all the resources to deal with the inherent psychological, medical and social issues that come with marijuana use.

Marijuana use for even medicinal purposes in those countries is tightly controlled so that eliminates the possibility of abuse but in a country like ours where bribery and corruption run supreme, there will be free-for-all abuses.

We have enough social problems as it is because of massive corruption in the corridors of higher powers that has put our country on the brink of being labeled a "banana republic".

Legalizing weed will bring all the international criminals on our shores clamouring for a piece of "the pie"... and I think we have enough local criminals masquerading as politicians to mix them up with international crooks and foreign drug lords.

Our country will then really be "up the creek without a paddle"
