It is true that some men our society is very irresponsible. They lay down and make babies and then they walk away and there is no excuse. But the women also make choices that lead to that path. Some of you get involved with Guys that have no jobs or no planned future. I do not know what kind of Guys she has been involved with but having a father at home beats single parenting. Even a good step father will do. I am very responsible but I am taken.

As far as Akans are concerned the child belongs to the mother and the father can never be the head. Name me one single Akan clan, which was founded or lead by male? In the olden days it were always the females having the wealth and power. It was much later in history that the females decided to appoint a male to rule on their behalf. According to Akan law a child inherits his mother`s family not and not his father`s family. Until today a female qualifies to occupy both male and female stools.

Aman is NOT the Head as we were made to understand. A man is the FOUNDATION of every family. He was created by God to be strong enough to carry his wife, kids and support the family in times of need. Therefore a strong man means a strong family because when the storm comes he is there to support both. This is the original intent of God.
Nowadays we have turned this basic God principle upside down and that is why we don't have strong families.
This is just a little bit of a long explanation of the original intent of God when he created man and the power he gave the male man as the only legal person to take care of earth and everything that dwells in it including women.
