Just last week a stupid NDC executive shamelessly said nothing good can come out from a certain region. NDC is a bane on Ghana. Ghana is on a free fall in ALL sectors while "officials" look on HELPLESSLY. I'm sitting here and trying to make sense of people who STILL support NDC: ignorance, illiteracy and lack of commonsense are at play at the EXPENSE of our country's development.

Any patriotic citizen will consider his/her country's INTEREST first, but in Ghana, political PARTIES are treated like ABUSUA or LINEAGE, so a party in government can RUN DOWN the country, yet retains its SUPPORT from the same AFFECTED and SUFFERING citizens nonetheless. I wonder if this phenomenon is just STUPIDITY or something beyond that?

Ask someone who voted for NDC and therefore for Mahama, the reasons why he/she made that decision, and chances are, you'll get answers like, "He's handsome", or "he's thick and tall, so he deserves the seat" or simply "he's nice". All those "REASONS" are NOT based on ISSUES, but subjective and superficial ideas. So, in Ghana, presidential elections are judge the same way one would judge a BEAUTY CONTEST event.

Unlike pre-colonial citizens, modern day Ghanaians are acting unwisely: Our thinking is twisted, our focus and culture are HIGHLY foreign influenced, albeit to our detriment. What are we? STUPID? Come 2016, if we do not dump a government which is messing up our lives economically, politically, and socially, then my conclusion will hold: Majority of Ghanaians are simply STUPID!!

I congratulate Asamoah-Gyan on his accomplishments. That is a legacy which may last beyond his lifespan, depending on how he manages other things in his life. He deserves to enjoy it, and more, for all his toils.

However, he should not forget that as many that hover around him and express their Love for him, they may be the same number that loathe him, and would rather see him fall.

The recent case of an alleged rape against him must be an eye-opener, not only to Asamoah-Gyan, but to all successful Celebrities, especially the Sports-Folks. Predators abound to close in on them to feed upon them. These dangerous folks are cunning in their games and could easily ensnare many of us.

So, as Asamoah-Gyan celebrates his successes, he should temper that with great caution, guided by humility and the fear of God.

For as long as he has good health and his skills have not waned, he would be on top of his game to make more Money. He must seek and invest wisely. He must find a creditable Financial Firm, if he has not found one yet, to help him manage his finances. More importantly, he should consider further Education in Finance Management, at least, to enable him to keep an eye on his investments and wealth, in general. By the time he retires, he will be still young and have the longer part of his life ahead of him. He should plan well to use that part of life just as profitable, inspiring and successful as he might have done in the Playing days. He should not simply retire into idleness. He would be too bored, and vulnerable to temptations. He must not overlook the fact that even when he retires from active Soccer, he would still be a source of inspiration for the Country's Youths. So, he must do his best to retain a good character and reputation, and take good care of his wealth to last beyond his lifetime so that his offspring and posterity can continue to see him as a hero and patriot.

Asamoah-Gyan must consider diversifying his portfolio. I know he might have heard that before. But I am reiterating it for him and others in his league (no punt intended) to take it seriously.

Whenever I hear how many of our young, hardworking Athletes gain so much in their playing days, and soon after retiring, or losing their contract, they lose everything and fall into poverty, my heart sinks. I hope it does not happen like that to any of our Sports-Folks. They must spend to enjoy their lives but they must do so wisely. Competing against peers to outspend them to show off is nothing but needless, wasteful conceit. Asamoah-Gyan should not succumb to any peer pressure that would cause him to drift into profligate spending that could see him poor before he turns 60.

I wish him all the best. His Mansion must inspire all of us. God bless him!
He must, however, beware of the predators, some of whom are Lawyers who could track potential Clients that have some contacts with Athletes that they could quietly hide behind to bring certain suits against the Celebrities to share in their booty, if successful.

I will be inspired when a Ghanaian - from his own toil and sweat - builds a house (of average size) that is "green" (using solar, wind or other alternative sustainable form of energy) and autonomous (that is off-grid for both electricity and water).

I will also be inspired when some Ghanaian comes up with an affordable way to house the displaced slum dwellers of Old Fadama, Sodom & Gomorrah and others!
