Nigeria will continue to rule the world in highlife music, it is our absolute and comparative advantage Rex Omar, there is something u dont really know about 9ja, we are a collective of different nation coming together to form 9ja, so every region has their kind of music, our music raging from highlife, Rap, dancehall, Makossa, etc. and i do not agree with you that ghana started highlife, when Ghana was playing highlife in those days, Nigeria was equally in the game too, even though Ghana use to dominate Nigeria. today Nigeria out played Ghana in this modern day cause we have redefine highlife from what it use to be known period.

Ghanaians have become copycats promoting some stupid thing called dancehall. This whole dancehall thing has a short life span in the Ghana music industry and its going to die out. What Ghanaians don't understand is the cultural component to dancehall music back in Jamaica. It is ingrained in their culture just like highlife defined Ghana back then. The difference is that overtime they have perfected the act and brought it to the rest of the world while Ghanaians have abandoned heir highlife and resorted to copying. Consequently, other nations are taking highlife and mastering it and making it theirs.
So our case is even sadder because by the time dancehall music is out of the scene we might have lost out to other countries in our own highlife music . God save Ghana music
