I have never wanted to comment on this but I will. We are all insulting them, are we not doing the same thing they are doing?
Now point of correction; I don't support any of them but I think Shatter is the real king. Looking at where the genre originated from and how they play the game, Shatter is the real thing. Check from Jamaica, you will see, example Elephant man, Ninja Man, Mavado etc, Shatter's move fall in place. His got the attitude to the game. DanceHall is played on jangle grounds so u can find the trace in Dancehall lyrics.
What some us don't get is, we love the DanceHall songs but we don't like the character(attitude) that inspires the writing.
I will not be surprise if Shatter is known world wide when it come to Africa DanceHall music because he does typical DanceHall.
Stoneboy defined his as AfroDanceHall the last I heard him talk about his style and that's great.
In my opinion, Samini on serious grounds is not a world DanceHall artist. I have listen to his music from day one when he started. He brought his style and it is good but it is not Jamaica Dancehall standard.
We need to give Shatter the credit because he brought attention to dancehall and made it ghana household music. Even cooperate bodies now sign dancehall artists because Shatter broke that perception of it not selling.
We all have bad attitude which is disgusting but it is not seen because we are not in their shoes or ours is not same as theirs.
