Ghanaian women are now developing a habit of using their children to punish their exes.My own younger sister falls in this group.I warned her about her ex boyfriend before she become serious with him but she did not listen.He refused to marry her after she got pregnant and this has made her bitter.She moved in with me and tried to make me a substitute father which I refused.I have made sure the boy call me Uncle and not Paapa like my kids and the help.My nephew's father has shown interest of playing his part as a father but my sister's added conditions and restrictions makes it near impossible.I tried to explained to her that her failed relationship shouldn't in any way obstruct that of her son's with his father.She pretends to understand but has quietly pumped the boy's head with negative narratives about his father.This will end up hurting the boy more than the father.My family is sound financially and so she has been able to create the impression that her ability to do more for the boy means his father is willfully neglecting him.Publicly she is a saint of course but I see everything she does.To my shock my wife has publicly and secretly supported her.If as an Uncle I am feeling restricted by a sister I am taking care of I can imagine how the father feels.
